PO(E)MEGRANATE

A Poem by Raz Al-Jaf

Longing to dream,
each membrane re-members,
every tissue
open —
red, tart, aware,
the seed is the fruit
He delivers, yearning,
holding my heart, a hand full of pomegranate,
whole, I am
the fruit in the seed
as I yearn —
He longs for me, belonging to me.

Raz is a Kurdish female person from South Kurdistan. Lover of many things, including immersive cultural travels, being a polyglot, and constantly learning about her inner world. Oh and, a true lover of pomegranates.
